PLEXR Plasma Pen in Honolulu

Who is a candidate for Plexr plasma?

How long is the treatment and what is the downtime?
Treatment time, including topical numbing cream, may be 20-60 minutes depending on the treatment area. One to three treatments may be needed at 2 month intervals. This will depend on the severity of wrinkles and the expectations of the patient. Most patients describe the treatment as a series of fast, hot pinches.
Following treatment, the skin looks covered in tiny dark scabs (carbon crusting). At the site of each dot, it should not be touched except to apply a mineralized sunscreen (zinc or titanium) and concealer for up to 7 days. You will need to keep the treated area clean, dry and protected from direct sun exposure for a minimum of 30 days. You will be given creams to apply for the following week which can aid with the healing process.
When will I see results?
Many patients see improvement one week after treatment. Maximum results are visible in one to three months. Repeat treatments can be performed at 2 month intervals. Most patients receive up to 3 treatments for best results.
What are the risks associated with having a Plexr plasma treatment?
Any procedure which causes inflammation (redness, swelling) poses a risk of PIH or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation where the treated zones leave the skin with brownish pigment. People of darker skin tones (who tan easily) are at a higher risk of this undesirable side effect. People who have prolonged sun exposure or active tanning are not good candidates.
In very rare cases, hypopigmentation may occur. These are zones where the skin’s own natural pigment does’t return, leaving paler skin tone instead.
Should the healing period be disrupted (scabs scratched off or wet, sun baking too soon, etc) there is a possibility of scarring.
